The NA Supply Chain & Logistics Director will be responsible for leading the operations team to deliver a world-class customer experience, driving supply chain efficiency and cost improvement.

  • This role will oversee acquisition and management of inventory through analysis and delivery of demand planning to support current and future sales.
  • By identifying and implementing improvements in business process, technology and direction within the supply chain function, it will focus on total value to Customers, employees and investors.
  • This role will be responsible for managing and building the logistics, materials and supply chain by leveraging talent and resources in pursuit of clearly defined strategic and organizational goals.
  • We are looking for a versatile and talented leader with a demonstrable record managing team, processes, demand planning & inventory management, global suppliers and 3PL/Transport Service Providers.
  • Automotive Industry experience is desirable; the role is positioned in the NA Aftermarket Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities

  • Acquire and manage a wide range of inventory, working with sales to define consensus demand/forecast plans that support total value and cash flow targets champion the regional SIOP process Lead the logistics, materials and supply chain departments, ensuring they perform in line with KPIâ??s and budget
  • Provide direction for the design, planning, development and implementation of strategic initiatives related to Supply Chain & Logistics infrastructure and functional activities
  • Pro-actively lead cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities; drive results, meet logistics cost targets and execute functional business planning process
  • Strategize, plan and integrate with Sales and Marketing teams to support delivery of sales and commercial targets
  • Track and report on performance metrics, provide data and recommendations to support operational performance and customer satisfaction levels
  • Coach and lead teams through knowledge transfer and open communication; evaluate and encourage feedback by role modelling and driving engagement at all times
  • Create a talent pool of key roles within the function, advocating for internal career progression; consider and develop capabilities of each team member
  • Negotiate and define deliverables and solutions with external 3rd party logistics and transport service providers, ensuring they achieve contractual terms
  • Work with all members of the Leadership Team to secure NA Region commercial, operational, financial and service objectives
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring material availability and supply standards remain high, reliable and consistent
  • Possess advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrable ability to handle multiple priorities, work well under pressure and meet deadlines with quality output
  • What we are looking for
Experience
  • Extensive experience managing large Supply Chain & Logistics teams across a region within multicultural environments, leading by example to enhance capabilities and develop talent
  • Particular experience managing demand and supply planning functions, inventory control, logistics and customer services
  • Fundamental understanding & experience of ERP / MRP / DRP systems & processes to deliver material availability objectives and provide recommendations to key stakeholders to develop and strengthen the supply chain
  • Overseeing Customer Service teams, remaining focused on operational, commercial and customer needs, working with varied cultures across a wide geography
  • Evidence of leading supplier and 3rd party service provider relationship management; negotiation of commercial, operational and financial terms and conditions
  • Held roles managing large and varied SKU range; Automotive/Aftermarket or similar

  • Highly numerate and literate; advanced verbal and written communication capability; competent user of current computer and communications systems; SAP user advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with and influencing colleagues from the top to the front; demonstrates inspirational behavior; passionate about Supply Chain
  • Ability to travel
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management
